Baptism Request

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved..." (Mark 16:16)
We rejoice with you as you seek the gift of Holy Baptism here at Grace Lutheran Church. Baptism is at the center of the Christian faith and life—for in it, the triune God delivers us from the kingdom of Satan and claims us as His own dear child by the blood of Christ (Colossians 1:13–14). It is our joy to walk with you in this gift of new life and to support you in the life that follows as a baptized child of God.

Please answer the following questions in preparation for baptism.
Notes:

  • It’s very helpful to notify the pastor(s) and church office about a baptism as far in advance as possible. We are not opposed to—indeed, we strongly encourage and support—baptisms without delay, even as soon as the next Sunday after birth! When such a precious gift as Holy Baptism is offered, why wait? That said, it’s helpful to do some planning in the months leading up to delivery, and timely communication when the baby arrives will ensure everything is prepared to receive this gift with joy. Some families choose to wait a little while after birth before scheduling the baptism, and that is understandable as well. Whenever you are ready, just let us know—giving at least a week's notice (more is appreciated!) so we can make the proper preparations to celebrate this joyful gift together.

  • Please confirm your request by calling the church office or speaking directly with one of the pastors.

  • Dates are tentative until one of the pastors confirms them.

  • Every baptism requires a time of pastoral counseling beforehand, which can be scheduled at your convenience—even during pregnancy, before all the details are finalized.
